"A mother's love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path."

                                                                                                              -- Agatha Christie

Bhishma said (Santi Parva: Mokshadharma Parva):- “The mother is the panacea for all kinds of    calamities. The existence of the mother invests one with protection; the reverse deprives one of all protection”.

     Motherhood is the most amazing career that a woman can have.This is the only instance where both pleasure and pain work in unison. Before the childbirth, the lady was a woman. After the childbirth, the woman is transformed into a mother. This is an evolutionary happening; in the manner of the silkworm getting transformed into some winged angel.

The act of giving birth is the only moment when both pain and pleasure converge in a moment of time. It is in the manner of the sharp point of a needle, astride upon that point are both pleasure and pain, simultaneously assailing the female that is undergoing the miracle of childbirth.

Pregnancy is an amazing feeling of carrying a child inside of her is the beginning of a true love as you have never known it. This is when you learn about giving of yourself more than you have ever given before. This wonderful feeling occurs more intensely as the pregnancy progresses.

The woman begins to feel the little life inside her fluttering around. She is amazed that she could be part of creating something so tiny and helpless.
When a new mother holds her first born child in her arms, many emotions well up inside her. Little eyes looking up at mother with his/her tiny fingers wrapped tightly around her finger, mother falls for someone harder and faster than she has ever fallen before.

Everyone knows that a book is always better than a movie, but is there any real advantage to getting your information by reading it?   Yes, according to neuroscience—your mind will  definitely thank you.   Just like muscles, the brain benefits from a good workout. There is no rule book about what you should read. Reading is important in all its forms - it opens doors and makes life easier, so at the end of the day it doesn't matter what you read. What's more, it really can make you feel good!
So why does reading improve our mood? Aside from offering an escape from the daily grind 83% of people laugh out loud and remember the health benefits of laughter (read my post on laughter :

*      Reading is an active mental process:  you would use the grey cells of your brain to think and   become smarter.
*      Reading improves your vocabulary
*      Gives you a glimpse into other cultures and places of the world
*      Improves concentration and focus
*      Builds self-esteem
*      The more you read, the more knowledgeable you become. With more knowledge comes more confidence. More confidence builds self-esteem. So it’s a chain reaction. It gives a great awareness about the happenings in the world.
*      Improves memory
*      Improves your discipline : Adding book reading to your daily schedule and sticking to it, improves discipline.
*      Improves creativity
*      You always have something to talk about
*      Reduces boredom
*      It is best when one is pestered since childhood, so that it grows with age. There are a lot of advantages linked with it
*      Vigorous reading has a kind of chain reaction. If one reads consistently, he becomes habituated to gaining knowledge, gets more information, gets more confident, and in turn would have an urge to know more and find more solutions to different queries.
*      One can notice the improvement in terms of memory. We will be able to stretch out memory limit and hence accelerate the learning process.
*      Brings in lot of discipline and makes us consistent with the habit. We develop habit of learning that brings in scheduling and good management of time.
*      There is a lot of increase in our capability of being creative. With enormous store of knowledge, it becomes easy for us to bring in a flow of natural way of writing and spontaneous expression.
*      Exercises your mind.
*      Gives satisfaction
*      Expands the imagination
*      Enhances the ability to focus
*      Improves knowledge
*      Produces efficient orators
*      Teaches the art of living
*      Helps to accept other cultures and religions.

With so many benefits of reading, it is needless to say that we should develop this habit that
has wide advantages with absolutely nothing to lose from our side.

Which book are you reading now?...

Colours and its meanings  in   life

 Symbolic of purity and innocence. White has strong connotations of youth and purity. If you are an older person, your preference for white could indicate a desire for perfection and impossible ideals, maybe an attempt to recapture lost youth and freshness. It may also symbolize a desire for simplicity or the simple life.
 Red is associated with Danger, passion, energy, warmth, adventure and optimism .Red signifies importance and power. In some cultures red denotes purity, joy and celebration The color of strength, health, and vitality, Red is often the color chosen by someone outgoing, aggressive, vigorous and impulsive. It goes with an ambitious nature. Red people are usually optimistic and can’t stand monotony; they are rather restless and not at all introspective, so they may be unaware of their own shortcomings. They find it hard to be objective and may blame others for any mishaps. Quiet people with a preference for red may feel the need for the warmth, strength and life-giving qualities of the color, or they blanket their true feelings under a sober exterior. Red is usually chosen by people with open and uncomplicated natures, with a zest for life.
Harsh experience has probably matured the Maroon person into someone likable and generous. It is often a favorite color of someone who has been battered by life but has come through. It indicates a well-disciplined Red personality—one who has had difficult experiences and has not come through unmarked but who has grown and matured in the process.
Blue is calming. It can be strong and steadfast or light and friendly. Almost everyone likes some shade of the color blue. Blue suggests importance and confidence. It is a colour linked with intelligence and stability.
Green symbolizes life, growth, renewal and health. In contrast to this, green is used to represent jealousy or envy. It shows growth, health, environment, harmony.

Yellow is a warm, cheerful colour. Yellow ribbons are worn as a sign of hope. It is a colour used on warning signs because we link it with danger. In Egypt yellow stands for mourning yet in Japan it means courage.

Orange is a warm and stimulating colour. It gives a feeling of energy and warmth. It is usually linked to the season of autumn. Orange is associated with Stability, reassurance, warmth, sunset, autumn leaves and it's also supposed to be an aid to digestion

Purple represents royalty in many cultures and it suggests nobility. In Thailand it is the colour of mourning. It means - royal, precious, romantic &sacred.

Pink  is associated with  Love, fresh, flirtatious and distinctly feminine. The colour pink has become very fashionable again and can be found ranging from soft pink to tropical coral or playful raspberry. Pink is a good colour for bedrooms as it can be peaceful and restful and if mixed with a hot fuchsia, introduce passion.

Black is associated with Drama, death and eccentricity. It is a non-colour that absorbs colour and reflects nothing back. Black is associated with power and evils.

which is your favourite colour ????

A poem of Rabindranath Tagore

Today I happened to read a beautiful poem of Rabindranath Tagore which I want to share with you all :-

When I bring to you colored toys, my child,
I understand why there is such a play of colors on clouds, on water,
and why flowers are painted in tints
—-when I give colored toys to you, my child.

When I sing to make you dance
I truly know why there is music in leaves,
and why waves send their chorus of voices to the heart of the listening earth
—-when I sing to make you dance.

When I bring sweet things to your greedy hands
I know why there is honey in the cup of the flowers
and why fruits are secretly filled with sweet juice
—-when I bring sweet things to your greedy hands.

When I kiss your face to make you smile, my darling,
I surely understand what pleasure streams from the sky in morning light,
and what delight that is that is which the summer breeze brings to my body
—-when I kiss you to make you smile.

Find time to laugh, It's the music of the soul,
Find  time to think, It's the source of power,
Find  time to play ,It's the source of perpetual youth,
Find time to read, It's the foundation of wisdom,

If your doctor said, "Take two jokes and call me in the morning,"
would you laugh? Let's hope so. Laughter is good for you and
your child's mental and physical well-being. Laughter is a happy
 sound - it is something we can all share and understand,
whatever language we speak or place we come from.
Laughter releases a chemical called serotonin (say sera-tow-nin)
 into our brains.This is often called the 'feel good' hormone
 because that is the effect it has on our feelings. Laughter is
 a way we can be a part of a group and it can make us
 feel more comfortable with others.

Laughter is strong medicine for mind and body. “Your sense of humor is one of the most powerful tools you have to make certain that your daily mood and emotional state support good health.”

Laughter is a powerful antidote to stress, pain, and conflict.
Nothing works faster or more dependably to bring your mind and body back into balance than a good laugh.

Humour lightens your burdens, inspires hopes, connects you to others, and keeps you  focused and alert.
With so much power to heal and renew, the ability to laugh easily and frequently is a tremendous resource for surmounting problems, enhancing your relationships, and supporting both physical and emotional health.
Laughter relaxes the whole body. A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes after.
* Laughter boosts the immune system. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease.
*  Laughter triggers the release of body’s natural feel-good chemicals. It promotes  an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain.
* Laughter protects the heart. Laughter improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help protect you against a heart attack and other cardiovascular problems.

 When we laugh, as many as 15 small muscles squeeze our faces into a smile. Increased blood flow there may turn us a bit pinker and give us a happy glow. That is why Sri sri Ravi Shankar and his art of living promotes laughing .

Ha Ha Ha…He He He…..Ho Ho Ho…

Keep on laughing, but not on my post.

Tell Me Which Is The Strongest Emotion ???

 Tell Me Which Is The Strongest  Emotion ???

1.    fear
2.    love(adoration)
3.    grieving
4.    other

There are many types of emotions. Some emotions cannot be seen separately or even be isolated from the other. One such example is LOVE. When we say love is the strongest emotion, then naturally, hatred would also be the strongest emotion. Why? Because they are two sides of the same coin. Fear and courage are such examples.  ‘Fear of the Unknown ‘is the strongest emotion for Anxiety patients.
Some Romeos say   “We say LOVE cuz I am willing to die for the ones with whom I love to live…like I would take a bullet for them”.But not all say the same because some are practical in life and love is one of the emotion to survive in life. Love-The most dangerous, terrifying, exhilarating, testing, forceful, confusing, pleasurable emotion of all. Love both causes and relieves all other emotions.

Some angry young men say ‘ANGER is the strongest emotion. Why do I say that? Think about it. We can be having a perfectly good time and something can happen to instill anger. What happens? We forget all about the good time we’re having and can become possessed by anger. We can be deeply in love with someone, but when we get into an argument, all that love can fly out the window and we can become consumed in anger. When we’re overcome with anger, all thoughts of love, peace and well-being seem to vanish. Where do they go? The answer is, they’re still there, they’re just overshadowed by the stronger emotion, anger’.

Others would say ‘HATRED’. One reason - you can't control it.
Another reason - After love sours, it usually degrades into hate/anger.
Third reason - As memories fade, so does love. Hate, under the right circumstances, can last much longer. You can't control it. Desire, envy, love and anger are others that one "can control". Jealousy is the leading cause of most hate.

Only a small group promote CONFUSION as  the strongest emotion.

To put it simply, emotions cannot be compared directly to one another.

But still I vote for ‘LOVE because it is an all-powerful, all-dominating positive emotion, which defines human existence’ . Without love, humanity would cease to exist, becoming almost robotic , going through life as essentially biological machinery.Hate is the destructive, all-consuming side of humanity's dark side. while love is light, warmth and kindness that penetrates every human cell in kindness and compassion, making the cells dance and sing in a fantastic, natural rhythm of the powers of is, by far, the most powerful emotion known to the human beings. Love is powerful,  all the strong emotions and feelings which spring from it.

I would like to know your strongest emotion …..emotion is subjective…hey….
